Jamie Lee Curtis Confirms Lindsay Lohan Is On Board for ‘Freaky Friday’ Sequel: ‘Everybody’s Down for It’

06 March 2023

After hinting that “Freaky Friday 2” is “going to happen,” Jamie Lee Curtis has confirmed that her former co-star Lindsay Lohan is on board for the sequel.

The “Everything Everywhere All at Once” actress has spoken to Lohan “many times” about the revival, Curtis told TheWrap at Saturday’s Film Independent Spirit Awards, adding that “everyone is down for it.” “The fans are down — that’s who’s down for it, that’s who has to be down for it, and then the rest we’ll figure out.”

While Curtis has previously hinted that the sequel is a go, the “Freaky Friday” actress channeled her upcoming role as a medium in Disney’s “Haunted Mansion” to share that there is a “very good chance” for a revival.

“I’m in the Disney movie ‘Haunted Mansion’ and I play Madame Leota, who’s the medium — she’s in the crystal ball,” Curtis said. “As the Disney crystal ball Madame Leota from ‘Haunted Mansion’ coming up this summer, directed by Justin Simien, I would say there’s a very good chance — like that Magic Eight Ball — I think [there’s a] very good chance ‘Freaky Friday 2’ came up in the Eight Ball.”

Unveiling its official teaser trailer this week, Curtis stars in the cinematic adaptation of Disney’s beloved theme park attraction, “Haunted Mansion,” alongside an ensemble cast featuring LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon and Dan Levy, to name a few.

Aside from what’s ahead, Curtis is making a splash this year’s awards season, most recently winning Best Supporting Actress in a Film at the 2023 SAG Awards for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.”

Lindsay Lohan Wants To Play A Role In The MCU

20 November 2022

A surprising face may be popping up in the MCU. Actress Lindsay Lohan has suggested that she’d be up to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though she didn’t name any roles she would want in particular.

Lohan has been a controversial figure in the public sphere. Though she was a highly successful child actress in the late ’90s and began to transition into adult roles in the early ’00s, starring in films such as Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, her battle with addiction and run-ins with the law made her a notorious figure and negatively impacted her career for years. Though she’s recently been getting back on track with her new film Falling for Christmas, and there’s always been talk about a Mean Girls sequel, Lohan has not quite gotten back in the good graces of the public.

In an interview with Forbes, Lohan indicated that she would want to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “I think I’m always the kind of person that I see what comes and take it as it comes, wherever the scripts lead me. I love doing ‘rom coms’ so that’s always something that I’m going to look for and do a ton of when the time is right, but there’s definitely other – I’ve never done an action film,” she said when discussing what kinds of roles she takes. “I would love to do something with Marvel – just seeing what comes my way and I’m open to different roles.”

Lohan is mostly known for comedic roles. This wouldn’t preclude her from the MCU, however. For instance, She-Hulk was a heavily comedic entry into the MCU, complete with fourth wall breaks. The MCU has room for pretty much any type of actor, and Lohan could definitely be one of them.

However, that doesn’t mean it will necessarily be an easy road to fighting alongside the Avengers. Lohan would probably be a controversial casting for a new character. While she has the talent to back up her fame, she has garnered quite a reputation in the media and the public, therefore, is more familiar with Lohan’s controversies than with her acting career.

But Lohan can likely make a comeback if she plays her cards right. At the end of the day, MCU fans would embrace her if she put her all into the role. After all, Robert Downey Jr. had faced trouble for decades before his casting as Iron Man. However, once he took on the role his past misbehavior was forgotten, and Downy became the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for nearly a decade.

Lohan to Star in Netflix Rom-Com ‘Irish Wish’

04 September 2022

Netflix has revealed the second installment of its two-picture deal with Lindsay Lohan, announcing on Thursday the actress will star in the romantic comedy “Irish Wish.”

In the film, Lohan will play Maddie, a bridesmaid attending a wedding in Ireland between her best friend and… the love of her life. After a wish gone awry, Maddie wakes up in a world where she become the betrothed, only to discover that reality isn’t one she really wants.

“Irish Wish” will be the second Netflix-set romantic comedy to star Lohan. The first is “Falling for Christmas,” which is set to debut on the streaming service on Nov. 10. The holiday meet-cute features Lohan as a newly engaged heiress who takes a tumble while skiing and wakes up with a case of amnesia.

“Falling for Christmas” director Janeen Damian is reuniting with Lohan for “Irish Kiss,” which the filmmaker will helm and co-write. Kirsten Hansen, Ron Oliver and Michael Damian also serve as writers. The romantic comedy is produced by Brad Krevoy for MPCA and Michael Damian for Riviera Films. Amanda Phillips, Kirsten Hansen, Jimmy Townsend and Vince Balanzo serve as executive producers.

Lohan launched to stardom as a child actor in the late 1990s and remained a dominant force through the 2000s. She took a step back from the spotlight in the early 2010s, appearing mostly in smaller films before moving abroad to open beach properties.

During CNN’s New Year’s Eve special in 2019, Lohan appeared alongside Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen and shared her desire to “get back the life that I worked so hard for and [share] it with my family and you guys.”

Lohan is repped by APA, Vision PR, and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson.

Lindsay Lohan & Husband Bader Have Started ‘Talking’ About Babies: She Has ‘So Much Love To Give

13 August 2022

HL spoke to friends close to Lindsay Lohan who revealed that she’s ‘ready to start a family’ with her husband Bader Shammas.

First comes love, then comes marriage then comes … a baby for Lilo! Lindsay Lohan, 36, has been married to her husband Bader Shammas, 34, for almost two months and friends of the Mean Girls actress told HollywoodLIfe EXCLUSIVELY that they are ready to have a child! “Lindsay and Bader have obviously talked about starting a family and it is something that they both want,” one pal told us.

As fans know, Lindsay took some time away from the spotlight to focus on herself and her well-being. The time off was clearly great for her, as she now looks happier and healthier than ever. “Lindsay is finally at a place in her life where she can raise a baby. She wanted a baby before she had met Bader and she has talked openly about wanting to adopt,” the source said. “Lindsay has so much love to give, but right now, that isn’t her top priority. She is focused on her career and enjoying life with the love of her life.”

On July 30, Lindsay stepped out looking fabulous with her mother Dina Lohan, 59, as well as two of her siblings, Ali, 28, and Cody, 26. Noticeably missing from the family outing was Lindsay’s other brother, Michael, 34, who recently had a baby of his own with his wife Nina Ginsberg, who he married in 2017 after 10 years of dating. Although Lindsay and Bader’s baby would not be the first grandbaby for Dina, the source told us that Dina “can’t wait for Lindsay to have kids.”

“Dina wants a little Lindsay running around. Dina adores being a grandma, she spoils Michael’s daughter like crazy, but that hasn’t stopped her from pushing Lindsay to get going on giving her more,” the second source said, adding, “Dina is so happy that Lindsay has found such a great husband and has such a solid healthy relationship. She’s seen her through all the ups and downs of past relationships so it’s truly the biggest relief in the world that she’s finally found her perfect match.”

Lohan set to Return to ‘The Masked Singer AU’ after Urzila Announce She Won’t Return

07 May 2022

Lindsay Lohan was forced to step down from the panel of The Masked Singer for the past two years due to international border restrictions.

But it looks like the American actress, 35, could be set to return to the Channel 10 show after her replacement Urzila Carlson announced she won’t be back this year.

Sources close to the Mean Girls star have told Daily Mail Australia that Lindsay ‘would absolutely love to return to Australia for the right opportunity and amount’. It comes after Urzila, 46, told The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she will not be returning this year because she’ll be too busy on her comedy tour.

After Kyle Sandilands asked when she and Jackie will film the new series, Urzila said: ‘Do you want to get this one, Jackie? Because I’m not actually doing it this year…’

‘What are you talking about? You’re not on the bench?’ a shocked Kyle responded.

‘I know. I’m so devastated,’ Jackie said.

Urzila explained: ‘Because I’m touring again… the first year, I was just filling in for Lindsay [Lohan], and the second year we thought – well, Lindsay will be back, surely?’

‘Is Lindsay coming back?’ Kyle asked, with both Urzila and Jackie saying they didn’t know.

‘But now, the third year… Covid is finished, so now I can just go travel and tour.’

Urzila had replaced Lohan as a judge in 2020, after the Hollywood star was unable to fly over to Melbourne to film due to the pandemic.

It’s not yet known who will take over from Urzila in the new season.

During the first season of The Masked Singer Australia in 2019, musician Cody Simpson won as ‘The Robot’.

In 2020, Bonnie Anderson took the crown as ‘The Bushranger’, while Anastacia won in the most recent season as ‘Vampire’.
