Inside Lindsay Lohan’s Wedding Plans to ‘Great Guy’ Bader Shammas: ‘They Aren’t in a Rush’

04 March 2022

Engagement bliss! Nearly four months after Bader Shammas proposed to Lindsay Lohan, the pair have “started” wedding planning.

“They aren’t in a rush to get married,” a source exclusively reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly, noting that the pair have started “thinking” about what they want. “The talk is [there’ll] be two weddings — one overseas and one in the States, maybe some place in between Dubai and the U.S. There’s no timeframe just yet.”

The insider adds, “It’s going to be intimate. You don’t see her out and about anymore. Lindsay really likes her privacy.”

The Parent Trap actress, 35, and the businessman announced their engagement in November 2021.

“My love. My life. My family. My future. @bader.shammas #love 💍,” Lohan captioned an Instagram gallery at the time, showing off her giant Harry Winston ring.

The pair, who were first linked in 2019, have kept their relationship relatively low-key though her loved ones approve of the union.

“Everyone loves [Bader],” the source tells Us. “He’s such a great guy. They don’t go out a lot, she is always cooking. Lindsay has become very humble, domesticated and centered.”

The Freaky Friday actress’ mother, Dina Lohan, previously gushed about her daughter’s relationship to Us.

“Lindsay is dating a wonderful guy right now,” the Celebrity Big Brother alum, 59, exclusively told Us in April 2020, noting that she was in “no rush” for Lindsay to settle down. “But that’s neither here nor there. When she’s ready to talk about her personal life, [she will].”

The “Rumors” songstress — who was previously engaged to Egor Tarabasov before their 2016 split — relocated to Dubai in 2014 after her acting success, where she presumably connected with Shammas.

“I felt so relieved when I moved everything over from London to Dubai and I saw everything in one place,” Lindsay recalled to W magazine in February 2018 about her new residence. “Now I don’t have to open suitcases and live out of hotels and bags. Everything is where it should be. It’s a cleansing of your head, which is what I needed, and it took me a while to do it. … I would love to own a place in New York, and that’s something I will look into in the future, but right now I’m okay with where I live.”

She added: “There’s a certain calmness that I find there [in Dubai]. There’s no paparazzi, no cameras; that’s a big deal for me. I never considered people taking a picture ‘bothering’ me, but I don’t want people to misinterpret who I am as a person if they see me sneezing and they say I’m crying. I do really appreciate having the life where I can just go outside and not have to worry.”

Lohan Strikes Two-Picture Deal With Netflix

04 March 2022

Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) is expanding on her relationship with Netflix, with a deal for two more original films in which she’ll star, the streamer announced today.

Lohan’s deal comes following her attachment to Falling for Christmas, a holiday rom-com that is slated to debut on Netflix later this year. In it, she plays a newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress who gets into a skiing accident, suffers from total amnesia and finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.

Netflix previously released the series Sick Note, in which Lohan featured, in concert with Sky One, and is also currently home to Scary Movie V, in which she co-starred.

“We’re so happy with our collaboration with Lindsay to date, and we’re thrilled to continue our partnership with her,” said Netflix’s Director of Independent Film, Christina Rogers. “We look forward to bringing more of her films to our members around the world.”

Lohan is a Critics’ Choice and SAG Award nominee also known for turns in films including Machete, Bobby, A Prairie Home Companion, Herbie Fully Loaded, Mean Girls, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap. Duff Reacts to Kids Mistaking Her for Lindsay Lohan: ‘Live It, Learn It’

21 February 2022

A case of mistaken identity. Hilary Duff was a good sport when a class of elementary school kids confused her with Lindsay Lohan.

The How I Met Your Father star, 34, reposted a viral video of students misidentifying her as “the girl from Jessie” and “Lindsay Lohan” on her Instagram Story on Thursday, February 17. “Although it’s Hilary Duff b**ches aka ‘Lizzie,’” Duff wrote over the video, which showed the kids reacting to a photo of her from her Lizzie McGuire days. “Live it, learn it … floral pants are back!”

The Younger alum wasn’t the only 2000s Disney Channel star who the students didn’t recognize. “Told my students if they tell me who these people are, I would throw them a pizza party,” the original clip, which featured photos of Miley Cyrus, Ashley Tisdale and Chris Brown, was captioned. The students’ guesses included JoJo Siwa, Britney Spears, “the girl from Hannah Montana” and Michael Jackson.

Still, the “Sparks” singer wasn’t upset that the students didn’t recognize her, writing, “Man am I happy to not have to be ‘good‘ for the kids anymore.”

After starring on the Disney Channel sitcom from 2001 to 2004, Duff struggled to shed her alter ego. “I definitely went through big frustrations of being like, ‘Why can I not get a shot at being someone else?’” she told Cosmopolitan U.K. in September 2020. “I would get to producer callback and they’d be like, ‘She’s so great and she gave us the best reading and blah blah blah, but she’s Hilary Duff.’”

Now that she’s older, the “Wake Up” singer has made peace with her most iconic character. “It just doesn’t annoy me any more when people refer to me as Lizzie McGuire or say that was my biggest role because it paved the way for all the other roads I’ve been able to take,” Duff said at the time. “I’m at such a different place in my life now, being a mother and a wife – it doesn’t weigh on me anymore.”

The Gossip Girl alum has three children: son Luca, 9, whom she shares with ex-husband Mike Comrie, and daughters Banks, 3, and Mae, 10 months, with husband Matthew Koma.

The Role that Lindsay could have gotten in Titanic

28 December 2021

Titanic gave a boost to the careers of its lead actors, and it could have featured a young Lindsay Lohan as well, but James Cameron decided against it – here’s what happened. James Cameron has become one of the biggest and most respected filmmakers in the industry, and he’s now often associated with big-budget projects, mostly from the sci-fi genre. However, one of his most successful movies isn’t from that genre, instead being a disaster drama movie: Titanic, which tells the true and tragic story of the sinking of the title ship.

Based on the accounts of the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912, Titanic tells the story of Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), two passengers from different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage. Over the course of four days, Jack and Rose developed a deep connection that put them at risk, but their relationship wasn’t meant to be, and while Rose was eventually rescued, Jack became one of the many victims of the sinking. Through both, viewers also got to meet different characters from their respective social classes, and among those was Jack’s “best girl”, Cora.

Throughout Titanic, viewers got a glimpse at the very different worlds of Rose and Jack, and there was a somewhat prominent minor character in Jack’s world named Cora, a little girl traveling in third class with her father. Cora is seen at different points in Titanic, such as before boarding (as she’s stunned by how big the ship is), waving goodbye as the ship sailed, and of course, dancing with Jack at a third-class party. Jack famously told her she was “still his best girl” before he started dancing with Rose, and unfortunately, Cora and her father didn’t make it out of the ship on time. Cora was played by Alexandrea Owens-Sarno, but it was almost played by none other than Lindsay Lohan.

According to different reports, Lindsay Lohan auditioned for the role of Cora and became the first choice for the role, but there was one minor detail that for James Cameron was very important, and it ultimately led to her being turned down: her red hair. Cameron reportedly thought Lohan’s natural red hair was too similar to Rose and her mother’s, so they went with another actress with different hair color. At the time Titanic entered production, Lindsay Lohan’s career was only getting started, as she was playing Alli Fowler in the soap opera Another World. Lohan made her big-screen debut the year after Titanic was released in Disney’s The Parent Trap, where she famously played twins Hallie and Annie. After that, Lindsay Lohan became one of the most sought out teen actresses, starring in movies like Freaky FridayConfessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and Mean Girls.

As for Alexandrea Owens-Sarno, Titanic was her acting debut and her only known role. She took a break from acting after being constantly recognized on the street but enrolled in acting classes when she moved to Los Angeles after college, and she now works in improv and sketch comedy. Lindsay Lohan’s career might have been very different had she been cast as Cora in Titanic, and while her hair color isn’t really a valid excuse to not cast her, it’s important to point out that James Cameron is known for being a perfectionist, and clearly, her red hair was a big deal for him.

PARIS HILTON IS ‘GENUINELY HAPPY’ OVER LINDSAY LOHAN‘S ENGAGEMENT

08 December 2021

Paris Hilton had nothing but good things to say regarding Lindsay Lohan’s engagement. The pair, two of the biggest icons of the early 2000s, had one of the most emblematic relationships of the era, known for their dramatic ups and downs.

On the podcast This Is Paris, Paris Hilton spoke about Lindsay Lohan’s engagement to Bader Shammas. While she acknowledged their differences, she focused on the good. “I also just saw that Lindsay got engaged,” she said. “And I know we‘ve had our differences in the past, but I just wanted to say congratulations to her and that I am genuinely very happy for her.” She then talked a bit about her relationship with Lohan and Britney Spears, the “holy trinity” of the era, particularly of the party scene.

“It just makes me so happy to see, you know, 15 years later, and just so much has happened in the past two weeks. I got married, Britney got her freedom back and engaged, and then Lindsay just got engaged. So I love just seeing how different our lives are now and just how much we‘ve all grown up and just having love in our lives,” she said.

Paris has been open about her relationship with Lindsay in her podcast, calling it “complicated” and “on and off.” “But when I think about it now, we were just so young, immature. It was like high school drama, especially in the L.A. scene, and to live it out in public with the media constantly trying to stir things up and make things worse than they were. Back then, the media really enjoyed having girls feud with each other,” she said.

The media coverage was particularly grueling when it came to the topic of Britney, Paris, and Lindsay during the era, using all occasions to pit them against each other or to further the idea that the two were crazy party girls with no other interests. It’s been refreshing to see these personalities get a kinder reevaluation by the world, acknowledging the media’s role in shaping their lives and careers.
