Jamie Lee Curtis ‘absolutely’ wants another Freaky Friday with Lindsay Lohan

07 October 2022

Jamie Lee Curtis’ dream for a Freaky Friday revival with Lindsay Lohan is nowhere near fun-sucker status.

Though she’s busy promoting her upcoming (seemingly horrific) showdown with Michael Myers in Halloween Ends, Curtis told an audience on the film’s Mexico City press tour that she’s game for revisiting a lighthearted continuation of the 2003 family comedy.

“Lindsay Lohan and I are friends…. Lindsay Lohan and I text. She texted me the other day, she’s in Ireland making [her new Netflix movie Irish Wish],” Curtis said in a fan-shot video from the event (below), after a fan asked her if she was open to exploring the film’s story further. She later added: “Anyway, Freaky Friday remake? Absolutely.”

The 63-year-old previously starred opposite Lohan in the Disney comedy (an adaptation of Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel of the same name) about a mother and daughter who, thanks to ancient magic, inadvertently switch bodies.

Though she maintained that her relationship with Lohan is strong, she admitted that she regularly tests the actress “to make sure it’s not a phishing scam” every time she contacts her.

“The test for her was, ‘What was the song that you and I were trying to learn the rap [that’s] in the middle of the song while we were sitting in the car doing the scene while we were eating French fries?'” Curtis recalled, referencing a moment they shared on the set of Freaky Friday. “The answer is the Justin Timberlake song “Like I Love You” …. she and I were playing the tape, then we’d go back and rewind, the two of us were writing the lyrics to that whole rap in the car in Freaky Friday.”

In a recent interview reflecting on her most memorable roles, Curtis told EW a similar story about verifying Lohan’s identity when she contacts her. She also said that Freaky Friday was a particularly rewarding experience in her lengthy filmography.

“Freaky Friday was a fabulous movie, also very freeing creatively,” she said. “You know, being a teenager again, it was super fun. I had a good time with Lindsay. She was terrific.”

Lohan can next be seen in the rom-com Falling for Christmas, which debuts Nov. 10 on Netflix, while Halloween Ends premieres Oct. 14 in theaters and on Peacock. Watch Curtis discuss a potential Freaky Friday remake above.

Lohan to Star in Netflix Rom-Com ‘Irish Wish’

04 September 2022

Netflix has revealed the second installment of its two-picture deal with Lindsay Lohan, announcing on Thursday the actress will star in the romantic comedy “Irish Wish.”

In the film, Lohan will play Maddie, a bridesmaid attending a wedding in Ireland between her best friend and… the love of her life. After a wish gone awry, Maddie wakes up in a world where she become the betrothed, only to discover that reality isn’t one she really wants.

“Irish Wish” will be the second Netflix-set romantic comedy to star Lohan. The first is “Falling for Christmas,” which is set to debut on the streaming service on Nov. 10. The holiday meet-cute features Lohan as a newly engaged heiress who takes a tumble while skiing and wakes up with a case of amnesia.

“Falling for Christmas” director Janeen Damian is reuniting with Lohan for “Irish Kiss,” which the filmmaker will helm and co-write. Kirsten Hansen, Ron Oliver and Michael Damian also serve as writers. The romantic comedy is produced by Brad Krevoy for MPCA and Michael Damian for Riviera Films. Amanda Phillips, Kirsten Hansen, Jimmy Townsend and Vince Balanzo serve as executive producers.

Lohan launched to stardom as a child actor in the late 1990s and remained a dominant force through the 2000s. She took a step back from the spotlight in the early 2010s, appearing mostly in smaller films before moving abroad to open beach properties.

During CNN’s New Year’s Eve special in 2019, Lohan appeared alongside Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen and shared her desire to “get back the life that I worked so hard for and [share] it with my family and you guys.”

Lohan is repped by APA, Vision PR, and Brecheen, Feldman, Breimer, Silver & Thompson.

Lindsay Lohan & Husband Bader Have Started ‘Talking’ About Babies: She Has ‘So Much Love To Give

13 August 2022

HL spoke to friends close to Lindsay Lohan who revealed that she’s ‘ready to start a family’ with her husband Bader Shammas.

First comes love, then comes marriage then comes … a baby for Lilo! Lindsay Lohan, 36, has been married to her husband Bader Shammas, 34, for almost two months and friends of the Mean Girls actress told HollywoodLIfe EXCLUSIVELY that they are ready to have a child! “Lindsay and Bader have obviously talked about starting a family and it is something that they both want,” one pal told us.

As fans know, Lindsay took some time away from the spotlight to focus on herself and her well-being. The time off was clearly great for her, as she now looks happier and healthier than ever. “Lindsay is finally at a place in her life where she can raise a baby. She wanted a baby before she had met Bader and she has talked openly about wanting to adopt,” the source said. “Lindsay has so much love to give, but right now, that isn’t her top priority. She is focused on her career and enjoying life with the love of her life.”

On July 30, Lindsay stepped out looking fabulous with her mother Dina Lohan, 59, as well as two of her siblings, Ali, 28, and Cody, 26. Noticeably missing from the family outing was Lindsay’s other brother, Michael, 34, who recently had a baby of his own with his wife Nina Ginsberg, who he married in 2017 after 10 years of dating. Although Lindsay and Bader’s baby would not be the first grandbaby for Dina, the source told us that Dina “can’t wait for Lindsay to have kids.”

“Dina wants a little Lindsay running around. Dina adores being a grandma, she spoils Michael’s daughter like crazy, but that hasn’t stopped her from pushing Lindsay to get going on giving her more,” the second source said, adding, “Dina is so happy that Lindsay has found such a great husband and has such a solid healthy relationship. She’s seen her through all the ups and downs of past relationships so it’s truly the biggest relief in the world that she’s finally found her perfect match.”

Lohan set to Return to ‘The Masked Singer AU’ after Urzila Announce She Won’t Return

07 May 2022

Lindsay Lohan was forced to step down from the panel of The Masked Singer for the past two years due to international border restrictions.

But it looks like the American actress, 35, could be set to return to the Channel 10 show after her replacement Urzila Carlson announced she won’t be back this year.

Sources close to the Mean Girls star have told Daily Mail Australia that Lindsay ‘would absolutely love to return to Australia for the right opportunity and amount’. It comes after Urzila, 46, told The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she will not be returning this year because she’ll be too busy on her comedy tour.

After Kyle Sandilands asked when she and Jackie will film the new series, Urzila said: ‘Do you want to get this one, Jackie? Because I’m not actually doing it this year…’

‘What are you talking about? You’re not on the bench?’ a shocked Kyle responded.

‘I know. I’m so devastated,’ Jackie said.

Urzila explained: ‘Because I’m touring again… the first year, I was just filling in for Lindsay [Lohan], and the second year we thought – well, Lindsay will be back, surely?’

‘Is Lindsay coming back?’ Kyle asked, with both Urzila and Jackie saying they didn’t know.

‘But now, the third year… Covid is finished, so now I can just go travel and tour.’

Urzila had replaced Lohan as a judge in 2020, after the Hollywood star was unable to fly over to Melbourne to film due to the pandemic.

It’s not yet known who will take over from Urzila in the new season.

During the first season of The Masked Singer Australia in 2019, musician Cody Simpson won as ‘The Robot’.

In 2020, Bonnie Anderson took the crown as ‘The Bushranger’, while Anastacia won in the most recent season as ‘Vampire’.

Paris and Lindsay’s Feud Has Ended

04 February 2022

It’s official: Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan are frenemies no more.

In a Wednesday appearance on Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Hilton revealed that she and Lohan recently connected and smoothed things over after a very public feud that lasted for roughly a decade.

We’re grown-ups now,” said the socialite and television personality, who wed businessman Carter Reum last year. “I just got married, she just got engaged. We’re not in high school. I think it was just very immature, and now, everything is all good.”

When Cohen asked which of the two women had extended an olive branch, Hilton explained she’d reached out to congratulate Lohan on her engagement to Bader Shammas last fall.

“No bad vibes,” she said.

Lohan, hot off the success of “Mean Girls,” and Hilton were first spotted at Hollywood events together around 2004. Two years later, paparazzi snapped a now-iconic photograph of the two women leaving the Beverly Hills Hotel in a car along with Britney Spears, which prompted the press to dub them the “Holy Trinity.”

But the falling out allegedly began shortly after the image was snapped, when Lohan was romantically linked with Hilton’s ex-boyfriend, Stavros Niarchos. Hilton said she made several attempts to mend fences with Lohan over the years, but in 2019, she described her former friend as “lame and embarrassing.”

In a December episode of her “This Is Paris” podcast, Hilton hinted that time had healed many of the wounds between the two.

“I know we’ve had our differences in the past, but I just wanted to say congratulations to her and that I am genuinely very happy for her,” she said. “I got married, Britney got her freedom back and engaged, and then Lindsay just got engaged. So I love just seeing how different our lives are now and just how much we’ve all grown up and just having love in our lives.”
